Fawad Alam unbeaten 114 runs off 134 vs Sri Lanka highlights

Fawad Alam's unbeaten 114 off 134 balls is his brilliant century in Odis. Alam's innings is the initial hundred by a Pakistani batsman at the Asia Cup last match in Dhaka, overshadowing Saeed Anwar's 82 vs Sri Lanka at Dhaka on June 7, 2000. He is the fourth Pakistan batsman to have recorded a century in a losing cause in the tournament finals. Fawad Alam turned into the third Pakistani left-hand batsman to post a hundred in the finals, joining Saeed Anwar (two) and Salman Butt. Altogether, 10 centuries have been posted for Pakistan in the finals.

Alam has now scored 791 runs at 46.52 from 27 innings. His 188 runs in this Asia Cup are the most astounding he has scored in any series, demolishing the 153 runs he scored against England in 2010. Fawad's ton was just the fourth by a Pakistan batsman in the final of an ODI tournament. The last batsman to hit a hundred in a last for them was Salman Butt, who made an unbeaten 129 against India at the same venue in 2008. The other two such hundreds of years for Pakistan have originated from Saeed Anwar, against India in 1998, and against Sri Lanka in Sharjah in 1993.
